Scar Endometriosis

Scar endometriosis is when endometriosis occurring in a cesarian section scar. Scar Endometriosis can be found in the skin, subcutaneous tissue, rectus muscle/sheath, intraperitoneally, or in the uterine myometrium (within uterine scar).

Scar endometriosis is defined by the implantation or/and growth of endometrial tissue postsurgically at the incision site. These lesions are a product of gynecological or obstetrical surgery, including laparotomy and laparoscopic approaches of abdominal and pelvic cases

Symptoms

The standard symptoms of endometriosis can occur following a C-section.

They include:

  • Pain during sex
  • Infertility
  • severe pain during menstruation
  • pain or cramps between periods
  • painful bowel movements
  • bleeding between periods
  • Diarrhea or Constipation.
  • Bladder Pain
